A short story about this place.

A lot of people talk about staring into the abyss but I had enough guts inside of me to live in it.

The sign at the front of the abyss read “Leave it all behind. Start something new inside.” People like what they have so I can understand why so many don’t want to leave it. But I’m young and dumb and brave enough to do just that.

The trouble with the abyss is that it’s so dark in here that I have no idea what the hell I’ll possibly walk out with when I leave. Could be nothing. Could be everything.

“This is awful. I can’t see anything coming.” I said to the abyss.

The abyss said nothing back.

“I think I’ll stay here for a bit.” I said to the abyss.

The abyss said nothing back.
