A short story about The Moon.
I met you at the store, we hit it off, we spent the night sitting on a bench talking, but now it was time for the sun to rise.
“Let’s not let go of the moon.” You said to me.
I thought that was a dumb thing to say. I started to think about other dumb things you might say.
I started to think about the things you said before that and if any of those things were dumb too.
I started to think maybe that wasn’t a dumb thing to say, and maybe I am dumb for thinking that was a dumb thing to say. I thought maybe I’m too dumb to say something like that.
I started to think I was too dumb for you and you were too dumb for me.
The Sun rose and I went home.
