A short story about safety.

I followed her back to her car from the store.

I thought if I can make sure she can get back to her car safely, she would sense my protection and call me to her car to thank me.

She would ask me over, I would go over, she would cook dinner, we would fall in love.

We would be together for years, so long that we got bored around each other.

My friends would tell me I wasn’t the same anymore and her friends would tell her that I was an asshole.

We would get in a huge fight and I would leave and say something terrible that would make her cry.

Then we would both wish we had never even met each other.

She got to her car just in time for my fantasy to be over.
