I shot and directed a sketch for UCB on Sunday. I hate using rigs for DSLRs. All you need is a good lens and a good color profile and your footage will look like a real life movie and no one will know you shot it as bare bones as possible unless you post a behind the scenes picture on the internet for everyone to see.

Beastie Boys - Intergalactic (Dir. Adam Yauch)

This video came out when I was 10 years old. I started making videos around this time and I had never seen anything like this before. The Beastie Boys have continually influenced my point of view and sense of humor and my tastes for most of my life and I had always admired Adam Yauch for the work he has done. It’s strange feeling such a sense of loss for a person I had never even met before, but when a person has such a strong and direct influence on the choices you make in life and what direction you want things to go in, it hurts. A lot.

I had always wanted to meet the Beastie Boys, specifically Adam, if only to say thanks, and it breaks my heart that the dude is gone. I don’t know what else to say, I just needed to get my thoughts down. This isn’t a very good blog post.

Just appreciate the people that have made the things that influenced your life, because one day they won’t be around to make anything anymore.
