Hello. My name is Casey Donahue, this is my reel of some stuff I have written and directed. Some of this stuff is yet to be released material so spoiler alert I guess?

I am currently in the “looking for work” market and this is the work I do, so if you or someone you know needs someone to write stuff or direct stuff or write AND direct stuff, I do both of those things very well. They are my favorite things to do in the whole world!

I currently do not have representation so managers/agents, hit me up.

I was robbed and ripped off and I learned something about myself.

Above is a still from a movie I made on Tuesday afternoon. On Tuesday morning I was robbed. I was on my way to the shoot (that this still is from) when I stopped at a Rite Aide to buy batteries for my audio recorder. I run in and five minutes later I’m back at my car and my window was smashed and my backpack was stolen. In the backpack was my audio equipment, which was the reason why I was buying batteries in the first place.

Luckily, I have really great friends. I ran home and grabbed my friend Jon Hill’s audio gear, drove up to the location and shot with Nate Cornett who made everything look beautiful, Paul Isakson who made everything sound magical and Chuck McCarthy and Jess Lane who made the words I wrote alone in a room one time real. I was robbed in the morning and made my movie in the afternoon anyway.

Today I found out my insurance (Allstate, btw) would not cover my stolen property OR my broken window, which means repairs had to be paid out of pocket. Repairs because some piece of garbage of a person, a real worm, a truly disgusting being that will accomplish nothing but steal my tools, decided to be all of those things I just said. I am mad about all of this. I am upset because I try to be a good person and a shitty person gets to come out on top. But I got to make a movie and I can’t stop thinking about that movie I got to make.

My excitement about this movie I am making is so much more than my anger over what happened to my stuff. If I didn’t go shoot this movie right after getting robbed, I would have been in an awful mood. But I got to do what I love and now I know how much I truly love what I get to do. If I didn’t have this, I don’t know what I would be like. I am so grateful to have found a love like this and now I know I absolutely can not do anything else with my life. Ever. No matter how tough things get, if I am making something I love I will be in the right place.

I write and I direct and I make stories that mean something to me and the ability to do that can not be taken away and that’s amazing. Steal my tools and I will find other tools and I will make my thing and I will be fulfilled. And I just know that if I keep doing what I am doing and I do it the way I want to do it; I will succeed.

I can’t wait to finish this movie and I can’t wait to make whatever it is I will make after this movie because I can make things and I will make things until I’m dead.

So I have that which is pretty great. Also, Allstate can eat my shorts.

This was my first pilot made for Channel 101. It’s a lot different than the usual Channel 101 show and I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing but I do know I am going to keep making the things that I want to make and I want to make things like this.
